Overview
Mecartex SA is a Swiss limited company specialized in designing and producing of systems for high precision applications based on flexures where small movements in a range of millimeters with accuracy up to nanometers are required.

The success of the company is based on the excellent mix of theoretical know-how on micro mechanics and flexures acquired at EPF of Lausanne in the late 90’s where the two of the three co-founders, Stefano Bottinelli and Yann Mabillard, were working. They have made several years of practical experience on designing flexure based motion system and on the capacity to manufacture and assembly all components necessary to build the final solution.

The core know-how of the company is based on the capability of mastering two technologies: design of high precision products based on flexures and manufacture with EDM of high-precision mechanical elements.

The company is very proud to present itself as a good example of “invented and made in Switzerland”.

Management

Stefano Bottinelli (1967) is co-founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Mecartex.
He is graduated in 1992 as ETS Microtechnical Engineer in Yverdon. He worked for two years as planning and production manager for a watch company before moving to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) as a researcher. He has more than six years of solid experience in the field of high-precision robotic and EDM process.
In 2000 he started his own company which became the current Mecartex SA.

Francesco Sidoti (1966) is co-founder and Head of Manufacturing of Mecartex.
After completing his studies he started to work as Engineer Surveyor. He has a solid experience in manufacturing for the tooling industry. He also benefits from six years of experiences as Technical Manager of a team of 120 employees in the field of watch manufacturing.
In Mecartex he has been Responsible of Production since its foundation.

Yann Mabillard (1973) is co-founder and Head of R&D in Mecartex.
He graduated as Mechanical Engineer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL).
Prior to co-founding Mecartex he was involved with Mr. Bottinelli in research projects at the EPFL in the field of high-precision robotics.
In Mecartex he has been Responsible of R&D since the foundation.
